Collect for the Second Sunday before Advent.

Heavenly Father, whose blessed Son was revealed to destroy the works of the devil and to make us the children of God and heirs of eternal life: grant that we, having this hope, may purify ourselves even as he is pure; that when he shall appear in power and great glory we may be made like him in his eternal and glorious kingdom; where he is alive and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.

The next four weeks:


Home Group meets next on Thursday 15th November, 8pm. Please speak to Janice Panton if you’d like to know more.


Youth Group meets next on Friday 16th November, 7-9pm, All Saints Vicarage (All Saints Close, N9 9AT). All young people of Secondary School age are welcome.


Rosary Prayer Group meets next on Saturday 17th November at 11am in The Lady Chapel. Please speak to Fr Stuart or Eva McGrowder if you’d like to know more.


Open Church (organised by the Friends of All Saints Edmonton): All Saints will be open to visitors between 2 and 5pm on Saturday 17th November. If you would like to help ‘church sitting’ so that visitors can come in, please do speak to Fr Stuart.


Gospel Studies Course: an introduction to The Gospel according to St Luke, begins on Tuesday 20th November, 7.30pm, at All Saints Vicarage (All Saints Close, N9 9AT) – with Fr Stuart.

Parish Bring and Share Lunch: Sunday 25th November, following the Parish Eucharist.


St Paul’s Cathedral – re-licensing of Janice Panton as a Reader on Tuesday 27th November, 7pm. All are welcome to go along to support Janice as she reaffirms her commitment to her ministry at All Saints.


Fellowship of Sts Simeon and Anna at John Adams Court: there will a service of hymns and prayers at John Adams Court at 3pm on Wednesday 28th November.


24 Hour Prayer Vigil for Advent: All Saints will be open from 11am on Saturday 1st December and through the night for 24 hours of prayer. We will be praying on the theme ‘Light in the Darkness.’ Please do put your name down on the sign-up sheet in the Library Corner if you can commit to praying in the church for an hour, or just pop in during the course of the day or night.

Candlelit Music and Poetry: Thursday 6th December, 7.30pm. £5 (Free to residents of N9 and N18).


Enfield Community Choir Concert: Saturday 8th December, 7.30pm.


Winter Night Shelter: volunteers meeting following the Parish Eucharist. Sign up sheets for volunteers are in the Library Corner.


Christmas Dinner: Saturday 15th December, 6pm. Tickets £15 adults and £8 children and seniors. Please see Audrey Bernard or Bruce Mottram to book your place.


Confirmations: Bishop Rob will be coming to Confirm those who have been prepared on Sunday 16th December.


New Year Party: Monday 31st from 8pm. Snacks provided – bring your own drinks.
